Michelle Papenfuss

Pianist

Michelle Papenfuss received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance from Brigham Young University (2016, 2018). While studying at BYU, she won the school’s concerto competition and appeared as a soloist with both the BYU Symphony and Philharmonic Operas. Additionally, Michelle competed in the 2016-2017 MTNA Young Artist Competition and won the Utah state and Southwest division competitions, representing the Southwest division in the national final competition. Later in 2017, Michelle completed an internship at the Berlin State Opera, where she assisted with their production of Wolfgang Rihm’s “Jakob Lenz.” Michelle currently studies with Martin Katz at the University of Michigan, where she is working on a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano.
